System Description
The ECON Vibration Transducer Calibration System consists of a programmable calibrator, a standard exciter, a reference sensor, and a conditioning amplifier. The programmable calibrator provides the system's input signal and signal generator output. IEPE sensors or voltage-output transducers can be directly connected to the programmable calibrator. The conditioning amplifier provides signal conditioning and pre-amplification for charge-type sensors. For piezoresistive and other bridge type transducers, MI-1501 Bridge Amplifier is used for powering and conditioning. MI-2104 Sensor Adapter can also be used for powering variable capacitance and other transducers and can be configured with different excitation voltages.
The programmable calibrator generates a standard signal source, which is amplified by a power amplifier to drive the standard vibration shaker and produce reference vibrations. The signal fed back from the shaker tabletop serves as the closed-loop control signal, while the signals measured by the reference sensor (or laser vibrometer) and the sensor under test act as vibration comparison signals and are transmitted to the programmable calibrator. The calibration software automatically performs calculations, plots curves, and displays the results on the computer screen.
